The Wietersdorfer Group once again increased its turnover in 2023 and closed the financial year with a turnover of 1,071 million euros.

Four of the Wietersdorfer Group’s five business areas developed positively despite the declining construction industry, with GRP pipe systems recording significant growth of 19.7 percent and once again being the Carinthian group’s highest-turnover business area with a turnover of 482.8 million euros. 69.8 million euros of this was generated by the newest member of the Wietersdorfer Group – the Latin American O-tek Group, which was acquired in 2023 and has sites in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. The internationalization strategy thus proved to be an excellent step in terms of turnover by country: North and South America together accounted for around a quarter of turnover in 2023. With turnover of 194.92 million euros, the USA even became the market with the highest turnover in 2023, overtaking Austria for the first time.
The goal of CO2-neutral production is also being pursued very resolutely within the Group. In order to achieve its goal of CO2 neutrality by 2035, around EUR 31 million was invested in green transformation projects in 2023, including in the development of low-CO2 cements, the use of renewable energies, the use of recycled materials and, in the case of Alpacem, substitute raw materials and substitute fuels.
The green transformation will also continue in 2024: as part of an Austrian-Slovenian consortium, the Wietersdorfer Group has invested in AAE Gamit, a Slovenian specialist for renewable energy projects. Together, wind power and photovoltaic plants are being built in Slovenia. A PV system in the USA will also cover a third of the country’s energy requirements in future.
The Wietersdorfer Group continues to focus on progress and development. “The investment volume of around 90 million euros per year in the years 2022 to 2024, of which around 17 million euros will be invested in Austria, is the Group’s growth engine.”
