Europe remains the most important market for the Wietersdorfer Group, accounting for almost 70 percent of turnover and an increase of 2.9 percent. However, regional differences are clearly visible: in Austria, turnover fell by 12.4 percent to 156.1 million euros, which is attributable to the sharp decline in construction activity and high cost burdens. In contrast, Italy, with a 17.4% increase in turnover to 107 million euros, and Spain, with a doubling of turnover to 28.7 million euros, developed positively. The USA remains the country with the highest turnover within the Wietersdorfer Group with a turnover of 176.9 million euros, which corresponds to a 16% share of Group turnover – followed by Austria, Germany and Slovenia.
While the construction industry stagnated in parts of Europe, the Wietersdorfer Group was able to generate significant growth momentum, particularly in Australia and Africa. In Australia, turnover rose by 122 percent to 3.5 million euros as a result of the acquisition of RPC Pipe Systems. Compared to the other continents, Australia still plays a subordinate role within the Group. With turnover of EUR 52.9 million in the 2024 financial year, growth of 67.4% was achieved in Africa. The Wietersdorfer Group primarily implements desalination plants, drinking water and irrigation projects on the African continent.
