The Wietersdorfer Group is awarding five international internships in the summer of 2026 as part of its GO INTERNATIONAL student program. Three of these will enable students from Austria to gain practical experience in Italy or Croatia. Two further internships are open to international students for a stay in Austria. Students will spend several weeks in one of the countries, working directly in production facilities, laboratories, or commercial departments and taking on clearly defined tasks in the respective business area of the Wietersdorfer Group. The internships will take place between July and September 2026 and are aimed at students of technical and economic disciplines. Each internship is linked to a specific task and anchored in the respective business area.
Three internships abroad for students from Austria
Austrian students can gain international experience in Italy and Croatia in 2026:
- Italy: Marketing & Market Analysis (Alpacem Italia)
During the internship in Marketing & Market Analysis at Alpacem in Italy, students will support the sales and marketing team with market and competition analyses for 4 to 6 weeks in July or August 2026. Working closely with sales management, they will identify market trends and customer needs and contribute to the further development of the marketing strategy. - Italy: Cement & Materials Laboratory (Alpacem Italia)
At Alpacem’s cement and materials laboratory in Italy, students will spend 4 to 6 weeks in July or August 2026 conducting research on the performance and rheology of cements, particularly in relation to alternative and sustainable binders. They will perform laboratory analyses, support quality management in the evaluation of test results, and document their findings in accordance with industrial standards. - Croatia: Projects in Lime Production (InterCal Croatia)
At InterCal in Croatia, students will spend four weeks between August and September 2026 supporting investment and modernization projects in lime production. They will assist in the planning and implementation of technical measures, such as kiln overhauls or the installation of conveyor and filter systems, and will be involved in project documentation and coordination with external partners. Two internships in Austria for international students
Two further internships offer international students the opportunity to spend time in Austria and bring additional perspectives and experience to the Austrian business areas of the Wietersdorfer Group.
- Austria: Junior Controller (POLOPLAST)
In the Controlling department at POLOPLAST in Austria, students will support the finance and planning team with budgeting processes and business analyses for six weeks between July and September 2026. Their tasks will include calculating contribution margins, analyzing stock movements, and developing optimization approaches in the areas of production and raw materials.
- Austria: Decarbonization & Market Analysis (Wietersdorfer Alpacem)
In the decarbonization department at Wietersdorfer Alpacem in Austria, students will spend four weeks in July 2026 supporting the analysis of COâ‚‚ reduction projects in the cement industry. They will develop and maintain a digital tool for recording international decarbonization initiatives, research technological developments and funding programs, and prepare market data for internal decision-making processes.

GO INTERNATIONAL was held for the fourth time last year. Around 220 students applied for one of the coveted positions in 2025. With the fifth edition, the Wietersdorfer Group is continuing its efforts to actively promote international cooperation not only in business but also in the area of young talent.
