The Wietersdorfer Group has 53 production and sales branches in 22 countries – so it seems only natural to send “bright minds” from our universities out into the world of Wietersdorfer. In 2022, five female students and one male student were able to visit five of our subsidiaries and get to know the country, the people and the respective companies on site, within the framework of clearly defined projects. Internships were offered in Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, France and Norway. The spectrum ranged from production process optimization and marketing analyses to laboratory-specific tasks. The enthusiasm of the young, committed students was great. Three of our five business units provided internships in Sirac (lime), Anhovo (cement & concrete), Brandenburg, Paris and Sandefjord (Amiblu). The students came from TU Vienna (technical University) , WU Vienna (University of Economics) , Uni Graz, FH Campus 02 Graz and MU Leoben. It was a clear WIN-WIN situation both for the students, who had a great time abroad and gained a lot of experience, and for the supervisors, who enjoyed showing their interested trainees some of the practical world. We as the Wietersdorf group were so positively impressed by the reactions of all participants that we have decided to repeat the Go International project in 2023. New “destinations” will be added, but where it will go … let us surprise you – more at the turn of the year 22/23.
