Wietersdorfer Goes Down Under – next step in internationalization to Australia

The Wietersdorfer Group acquires 75.1 percent of the shares in the Australian GRP pipe manufacturer, RPC Pipe Systems, via its subsidiary Amiblu Australia Ltd. The Carinthian family-owned company thus secures the Australian market and strengthens its market presence in the Asia-Pacific region. With this acquisition, the Wietersdorfer Group is now active with production sites in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Australia.

Wietersdorfer Group was named Austria’s leading company in the Austria’s Leading Companies (ALC) competition.

It was a great moment for Hannes Gailer and Christina Fromme-Knoch when they were invited on stage at the ALC Gala in Vienna to receive the second prize, the ALC award. First prize in Carinthia was already a great honor, but second place in Austria, ahead of numerous well-known companies, is really something special.

Wietersdorfer secures 1st place in Austria’s Leading Companies in the regional ranking for Carinthia

In the large company category (> 50 million turnover), Ms. Fromme Knoch and Mr. Michael Junghans accepted the certificate and trophy as the best companies in Carinthia on Tuesday, October 1. This means that we have also been nominated for the “Austria's Leading Companies” national competition in Vienna on November 18 - we can't wait to see where we will be placed there.

The Wietersdorfer Group once again increased its turnover in 2023 and closed the financial year with a turnover of 1,071 million euros. Four of the Wietersdorfer Group's five business areas developed positively despite the declining construction industry, with GRP pipe systems recording significant growth of 19.7 percent and once again being the Carinthian group's highest-turnover business area with a turnover of 482.8 million euros.

The Wietersdorfer Group is continuing its successful internationalization course. In August 2023, the Wietersdorfer Group took over 100 percent of O-tek Internacional S.A.S. with production sites in Colombia and Mexico as well as a 25.1 percent share in a production site in Argentina.

A year ago, we revitalized our power plant chain in the Görtschitz Valley and brought it up to the state of the art. In 2022, wood dust combustion was started at the Peggau lime plant with the aim of reducing both CO2 emissions and dependence on gas.
