THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR EMPLOYEES IS THE TOP PRIORITY WITHIN OUR GROUP OF COMPANIES. PRODUCTION AREAS AT EACH SITE ARE GRADUALLY BEING EQUIPPED TO REDUCE NOISE AND DUST EMISSIONS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE WORKFORCE WITH A SAFE AND PLEASANT WORKING ENVIRONMENT. GRP pipes are produced using the centrifugal casting method, during which the ball bearings in the machinery generate noise of up to 100 decibels under the enormous stresses involved, exposing employees to this extreme noise level. For this reason, sound- absorbing enclosures are being erected around machinery at our sites to bring the noise level down to a maximum of 82 decibels. In 2020, 170,000 euros were invested in the first noise and dust insulation measures at the Romanian site near Bucharest. Work is currently underway to retrofit all locations to protect the workforce. ‟The project to reduce noise pollution is part of our company’s compliance efforts with the overall aim of comprehensively protecting our employees from exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
