New Leadership Team for HOBAS: Claus Brun and Harald Slamanig

For many years, Doris Strohmaier and Dominique Meyer have provided successful development work and skillful navigation through challenging times. However, the two managing directors and the Wietersdorfer Group have mutually agreed to part ways. The owner representation and management board of the WIG Wietersdorfer Holding would like to express their sincere gratitude for the long-term successful fulfilment of managerial responsibilities.
At the same time, the new leadership team, Claus Brun and Harald Slamanig, will build on the company’s strengths that have been developed in the past. Together with a highly motivated team, they will continue on the road to success. They will constructively tackle the future challenging tasks of HOBAS in a sustainable way.

Claus Brun is Danish and has been successfully working for a globally leading, international pipe company, headquartered in Denmark, for the past 17 years. He fulfilled various leadership functions, most recently in the Executive Board. Mr. Brun is an engineer (MSc) and holds an MBA degree in General Management. His areas of expertise includes: general management, international sales management, change management, business development, M&A.

Harald Slamanig is from Carinthia and has been successfully working in various international leadership positions at HOBAS for the past 14 years, most recently as managing director at HOBAS Pipe Austria. Following the start of his professional career at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, he accompanied the success story of Pago on the Executive Board for 12 years. Mr. Slamanig holds an MBA degree in Finance Management. His main areas of responsibility include general management, finances, production, change management, and business development.

  • The new leadership’s focus is aimed at a continuous, healthy growth through an increased internationalization and opening of new markets.
  • Priority will be given to securing investment in technologies as well as product development.
  • Last but not least, HOBAS places great value on being seen as an attractive employer within the international environment.
