Lime Business Segment
All lime-producing companies at Wietersdorfer are part of the Lime Business Segment. Our hallmark is high quality and products tailor-made to meet our industrial clients’ specific demands. We produce them in as energy efficient and environmentally friendly a way as possible and constantly work on improving our processes. This has helped to make our production facilities in Peggau (w&p Kalk GmbH) and Bad Ischl (Baumit Baustoffe GmbH, Austria), Sirač (INTERCAL d.o.o., Croatia), and Zagorje ob Savi (IGM d.o.o., Slovenia) among the most modern and advanced lime plants throughout Europe.
Broad Range for Central and Eastern Europe
We mostly supply our lime products to Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, and Romania. They are used for a wide variety of applications ranging from agriculture and forestry to iron and steel, chemical, paper, and construction industries.
Peggau: A Flagship European Company
Our production facility in Peggau ranks amongst the most advanced lime plants in Austria. As recently as in 2009, we built a new, highly efficient lime kiln for €15 million. The state-of-the-art, environment-friendly facility enables us to produce custom products with unique features for industrial clients. In this new kiln we produce lime for a very wide range of applications in the steel, paper, and agriculture industries as well as hydrated lime for soil stabilization, road construction, and structural engineering.
Calcitic and Dolomitic Limes from Slovenia and Croatia
The history of calcining limestone in Zagorje, which is 40 km east of Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana as the crow flies, goes back over 200 years. Here we produce calcitic and dolomitic limes for ecological and technological applications, hydrated lime, and lime paint. The Sirač lime plant in Croatia is specialized in producing dolomitic limes. They are used as high-quality additives in various steel production processes. As hydrated lime, dolomitic lime can also be processed very easily, making it very useful for building materials.
