w&p Zement GmbH
w&p Zement GmbH is a successor of Wietersdorfer & Peggauer Zementwerke GmbH. Dating back to 1893, cement production is actually the original business for the whole Wietersdorfer. Basically, w&p Zement GmbH covers all the activities of the cement plants in Wietersdorf, Peggau and San Vito (w&p Cementi SpA – Italy), all the concrete plants in Austria (see w&p Beton) and two raw material suppliers. The plants in Wietersdorf and Peggau now produce some 15 different types of cement under the w&p brand, not including custom production. All w&p cements undergo continuous internal and external quality control and bear the required CE marks. Over a hundred years’ experience in cement production builds expertise and inspires confidence. w&p continuously develops its products and improves production processes, while taking the principle of sustainability into consideration.
Wietersdorfer first started selling products in Italy in 1993, thus expanding the market served to the entire Alps-Adriatic region. Having acquired a share in Siprem SpA (cement mill and mortar plant) in 1997, we took over the company in 2001. We then turned it into Baumit Italia SpA with the segments Building Materials, Lime, and Cement, which underscored and consolidated Wietersdorfer’s position in Italy. Following restructuring in 2011, Baumit Italia SpA became w&p Cementi SpA and is now a highly regarded producer of binders and cement in northeast Italy based in San Vito al Tagliamento (Pordenone district).
In cooperation with the Group’s other cement plants, w&p Cementi SpA supplies a wide range of products to meet the Italian market’s requirements in every way, particularly regarding quality, technologies and expertise.
